Here we are in the middle of a beautiful summer, and before anything else—remember this: We’ve already WON in a big way today.
We woke up alive.
If that sounds cliché, just look around. In Texas, deadly flash flooding has claimed at least 135 lives—with 100 more still missing. In Plainfield, New Jersey, two separate flooding incidents took more lives. Yes, two separate storms, same town, same heartbreaking result.
This week, I’ve been reflecting a lot on these tragedies. That’s the focus of my latest podcast:

But of course, somehow the politics get pulled in—because everything must be Trump’s fault, right? Wrong. For the haters: Face the Facts — Not Everything Is Trump’s Fault.
Life is fragile. Every second matters. One of us could have been that 63-year-old woman quietly sitting on a bench near Chinatown… in New York City or the man on the bicycle next to her… when a stolen vehicle came barreling out of control, killing them both. Their bodies were left mangled, dismembered.
So again—make this day count. Make every day count.
