My sons celebrate Dominic Jr’s 23 Birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings

With the life I have lived, growing up in poverty in the Bronx, I never thought I would see the age of 40.

Now I’m 51, and desire to live to be an old man.

I’m a Grandfather.

My Daughter Courtney is getting married very soon,

And today is my son’s 23rd birthday.

With each passing year, I’m realizing what’s really important in life.

Happy Birthday Dominic Jr.  I’m so proud of you.

You are five classes away from your four year college degree.

You have proven the “experts” wrong that said you could never do it.

They didn’t know the caliber of your heart.

They didn’t know that you don’t quit.

Despite the long tough roads, YOU never gave up.  You never complained.

I’m very thankful for these great moments.

My low was all the numerous hospitalizations for your epilepsy…

When you would say “Daddy, I don’t want to be in the hospital.  I want to go home, and there was nothing I could do.”

But you survived, and YOU made it son.

I’m also very proud of my other sons.  They have been in my life since they were about 9 years old, Marcus and Quannie who are living productive lives, and celebrated your birthday with you.

I am very proud of my boys.
